Bruny Island Wild Long Lunch

The Bruny Island Wild Long Lunch is Islander Adventure Co's flagship experience: a six to seven hour private journey combining a scenic boat tour with a seasonal long lunch at one of Bruny Island's most distinctive venues. The experience is hosted by Cameron and Lezli Burgess, full-time North Bruny residents.

The day begins in Hobart, where we'll pick you up at a designated meeting point in the CBD or from your accomodation. We'll then take the scenic 35 minute drive down to Kettering, where guests board Islander's private vessel for a 1.5-hour cruise of the D'Entrecasteaux Channel. Depending on conditions and group preference, the route heads toward The Neck or Iron Pot Lighthouse, which has stood at the mouth of the Derwent since 1832. Wildlife commonly sighted along the channel includes seals, seabirds, and dolphins. 

Once on the island, guests will enjoy the North Bruny scenic loop to Bruny Island Wild, an architecturally designed venue on the Dennes Point foreshore. Each group is hosted long-table style, with lunch designed and prepared using fresh, local, and seasonal produce across four courses. Two beverages are included per guest, selectable from a range of hot drinks and alcoholic options. Guests' custom menu will be co-designed after booking.

Following lunch, guests have free time to explore North Bruny at their own pace. Options include the coastal beaches, the current exhibition at bruny NORTH gallery (exhibitions rotate regularly), the ceramicist's workshop nearby, the Dennes Point Heritage Trail, or swimming. A private sauna hire can also be arranged through Islander's local partners; guests can enquire once booked.

As the boat crossing is open-air, guests are advised to dress in warm layers regardless of season, as conditions on the channel are almost always on the colder side.
